The semestral system requires 15 weeks of classes followed by three - or four - week examination periods. Unsuccessful students can take their make-up exams in the second examination sessions organized in February and September. This means that every examination can be taken twice per semester. If students decide not to take examinations in the first examination session but only in the second one, they voluntarily give up a second chance to be examined.
There are 3 important documents that each Erasmus student cannot do without. One of them is Learning Agreement - the list of courses followed at the University of Łódź, which needs to be accepted by Socrates coordinators from both the home and host institutions. After arriving - either in International Office or in the Dean's Office - students receive Evaluation Sheet and Transcript of Records Sheet . In the first of them students collect grades and assessments for the participation in the courses and exams throughout the semester and at the end, after accepting it by the departmental Socrates coordinator, each student obtains Transcript of Records duly signed by the Dean which is the final document of completing their Erasmus studies at the University of Łódź.
